Lorain County JVS (JVS) would like to invite you and your students to come to our building and take a tour of all the exciting programs that are in progress this school year. This is a great opportunity for guidance counselors to use the JVS tour to assist students in making educated decisions as they prepare to go into high school.

As in years past, we are offering this unique opportunity for you to schedule your school's tour for your 8th grade students. Tour dates are available from October to May. Tours can either be scheduled for the morning or for the afternoon. We recommend that you do not delay booking your tour date(s) as they are available on a first come, first served basis.

• Details about the tour are as follows:
• JVS Tour & Scavenger Hunt Students tour career-technical labs, listen to a student program representative talk about their program, and get answers to scavenger hunt questions. Prizes are awarded in a drawing.
  • Tour -- approximately 1 ½ hours
  • Tour times:
    • 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
    • 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Guidance counselors, instructors and adult chaperones are to stay with tour groups as they move throughout the building. The ideal tour takes place when there is one chaperone per 10-15 students.

New this year, we are scheduling tours via our online scheduler. Simply log-on to http://www.lcjvs.com/tours/calendar.shtml to request your tour date and time. A confirmation letter will be sent to you once your reservation has been made.

Middle school/junior high guidance counselors may apply for a grant for $300 per school to help supplement the cost of busing students to Lorain County JVS for a tour. The grant application can be found online at http://www.lcjvs.com/online-forms. Then click on 8th Grade Tours – Grant Application.
