PARKING PERMITS: Students must receive permission in advance to park in the Student Parking Area. This area is clearly marked. All cars driven to school must be registered and have a school parking permit. There is an annual registration fee of $5.00 per permit. Applications for registration are available during Orientation/Registration and in the Attendance Office after school begins.
Parking permits should be hung from the stem of the rear view mirror. Special parking permits will be issued to students on job placement and Tech Prep.
Anyone interested in Drama Club: The first meeting for set crew will take place Wednesday, Sept. 8 in the high school auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Or check the Avon drama club website at freewebs.com/avondrama.
Attention Students! The ALHS Drama Club has been working on the first annual Senior Show all summer. Don't miss this original musical, which showcases the talent of our Class of 2011! You will re-live some of your favorite Disney memories and be thoroughly entertained by the Glee-like Broadway numbers. Tickets will be available during lunch periods for ONLY $5.00! Musical Moments from Disney & Broadway will be performed in the PAC on Thursday, September 2nd & Friday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM and Sunday, September 5th at 2:00 PM.
Homecoming ballots are in JVS Student Services.
Students will be released at 1:10 p.m. TODAY for the pep rally. The rally begins at 1:40. We will be on the long pep rally schedule.
Seniors: Will have a brief class meeting on Wednesday, September 8 at 8:00 a.m. in Quarry Room A to vote on Homecoming. If you cannot vote that morning, call the high school office or stop in before Sept. 8. Out of town guest forms are available in the JVS Student Services or find them on CHS website.
The Homecoming dance is Sept. 25. Out of Town guest forms are available in the main office and on our website under documents if you plan on bringing a guest who does NOT attend CHS. You cannot buy a ticket for a guest without this form completed.
BFS training will return Tuesday, September 7th, at 2:45pm, in the high school weight room. It will normally run Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:45-4:15pm. Please see the coach with any questions.
Attention all boys’ basketball players not participating in a fall sports: When BFS training starts, you are expected to attend!
There will be a short meeting Wednesday, Sept. 8 after school for anyone interested in being on the Academic Challenge Team this year. We have a Channel 5 taping date. Come to room 110 at Keystone after school on Wednesday.
There will be a Midview student meeting September 9 at 8:44 in Quarry Room B.
Boy’s Basketball: Attention all boys interested in playing basketball -- there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday September 7 at 6:00 pm in the back gym. This will be followed by an open gym.
Prom Committee applications are now available for all Juniors and Sophomores. The applications are due on September 15th so be sure to pick yours up today!
