August 30, 2010 -- The JVS Adult Career Center has launched a new Facebook page featuring adult-specific content to complement the district's page. We'll be posting job opportunities at the JVS and in the community, promoting courses, providing adult training program updates, news, photos, video, free seminars and more!

August 30, 2010 -- This summer the JVS Adult Career Center's Cosmetology students practiced their skills while treating community members to salon treatments during two very special events. On Wednesday August 4, 2010, six lucky individuals from Murray Ridge Center visited our state-of-the-art Cos lab to receive manicures and hair treatments such as French braids and haircuts. That weekend, our students provided hand massages for attendees of the Oberlin Family Fun Fair in downtown Oberlin.

Events such as these provide our students not only with the opportunity to hone the hands-on techniques learned in class, but also the invaluable "soft skills" that come with the cosmetologist's job.

Our students did a great job building relationships with and pampering their customers-making for great salon experiences and enjoyable afternoons for all.
